In January 2021, amidst our Oklahoma Composting Planning committee’s various work-from-home setups, we reached a milestone. After about a year of talking and planning, we got our official paperwork sent off to the state of Oklahoma to become a registered 501c3 non-profit organization.
The state agreed with our suggestion and granted us this status on 21 January 2021, forming the Oklahoma Compost and Sustainability Association (OCASA)! So, watch for our website, social media, and other locations to be updated with this new name. OCASA will continue to offer the annual Oklahoma Compost Conference, and will be working on filing our status with the IRS; drafting our mission, vision, and core values; and expanding our resources and outreach.
